About Nurse Learning Hub

An independent, free learning space for nurses, midwives and nursing students in Australia.

Our mission

Nursing knowledge changes constantly – new standards, new medicines, new equipment, new evidence. Finding reliable, practical explanations in between shifts can be hard. Nurse Learning Hub brings the essentials together in one calm, ad-free place.

We write plain-English guides that explain what the standards ask of you, why it matters for patient safety, and how to apply it on the ward – always linking back to the official source so you can check the detail.

  • Free to use – no account needed
  • Written for the Australian context (NMBA, Ahpra, NSQHS Standards)
  • Practical tools such as the free CPD log

Our editorial standards

Health information has to be trustworthy. These are the rules every page on the hub follows.

Official sources first

We base content on primary sources: the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, Ahpra, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, NHMRC and peer-reviewed literature.

Dated and reviewed

Every article shows when it was last reviewed. When a standard changes we update the page and the review date.

Education, not instructions

Our guides support learning. They never replace your organisation's policies, your clinical judgement or advice from your educator.

What you'll find here

  • Learning topics – guides grouped by clinical skills, medication safety, communication, infection prevention and professional practice.
  • CPD guide and free CPD log – everything you need to plan, record and reflect on your 20 hours.
  • Resources – a curated directory of the official websites every Australian nurse should bookmark.
  • FAQ – quick answers to common registration and study questions.

Independent

Nurse Learning Hub is independent and is not affiliated with the NMBA, Ahpra, any university or employer. We do not offer accredited courses or issue certificates; you can, however, record time spent actively learning with our guides as self-directed CPD when it is relevant to your practice.
